YOSPIS Continues Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Campaign at Kurmawa Correctional Centre
The Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS) continued its Menstrual Hygiene Day outreach campaign with a visit to the Kurmawa Correctional Centre, where it engaged female inmates in an educational session on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM).
During the session, participants were educated on the importance of maintaining proper menstrual hygiene, while common myths and misconceptions surrounding menstruation were addressed and clarified.
The facilitators emphasized the need to equip women and girls with accurate information, confidence, and practical knowledge to manage their menstrual health safely and with dignity, regardless of their circumstances.
As part of the outreach, hygiene materials were distributed to the inmates to support healthy menstrual practices and promote personal well-being.
YOSPIS reaffirmed its commitment to advancing menstrual health awareness and ensuring that every girl and woman has access to the information, resources, and support needed to maintain her health and dignity.
