As part of activities marking Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026, the Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS) paid a donation visit to Waraka Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) in Kano State.

The visit was aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene awareness and supporting survivors receiving care at the centre. During the visit, the YOSPIS team engaged with the management and beneficiaries of the centre on the importance of proper menstrual hygiene management, dignity, and access to menstrual health products.

To support the victims and survivors at the centre, YOSPIS donated sanitary pads and soaps to help meet their immediate needs. The organization emphasized that access to safe and affordable menstrual products is a basic necessity and an important aspect of the health and well-being of girls and women.

YOSPIS commended the management of Waraka SARC for the vital services they provide to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote health, dignity, and social inclusion.

The visit formed part of YOSPIS's broader Menstrual Hygiene Day campaign aimed at raising awareness, breaking stigma, and ensuring that no girl or woman is left behind in accessing menstrual health and hygiene services.
